Weekly Update - August 8 , 2021

| 8.8.21 |

This Sunday, Demetrius White from Redemption Hill Church will be preaching a message titled, “The Blessings of Justification” . This week’s passage will be Romans 5:1-11 . Last week’s sermon can be heard here. If you’re planning to watch online check us out this week on Facebook Live Sunday morning at 10:30am

We want to encourage you to take a moment this week as you prepare for our time together on Sunday by reading and praying through the passages.

Consider thinking through these four questions as you read and pray.

  1. How can I adore God from this passage?

  2. What sin does this passage lead me to confess?

  3. How does this passage help me to thank Jesus?

  4. From this passage, in what ways can I ask God's Spirit to help me this week?

As COVID numbers continue to increase in our area, the elders are continuing to monitor the updates by the CDC and our Governor concerning precautions for our gatherings. At this time, our services will continue to be mask-optional. We will continue to provide updates if things change going forward.

We do ask that if you or anyone in your household has recently been ill or is currently experiencing symptoms of illness, please stay at home. By doing this, you will be loving others well and protecting the most vulnerable among us.

  • Please be mindful of the comfort levels of others during our gatherings.

  • Hand sanitizers and disinfectant wipes will be stationed throughout the building

Community Leader Training

As we are approach the Fall, we are looking forward to meeting again in WEBC Community Groups. As a church, we want to be more intentional about our life together and our missional focus as Community Groups.

On Sunday, August 22, after morning service, we will be having a Community Leaders' Training for our CG leaders and those interested in playing a larger role in their community groups.

Lunch and Childcare will be provided. Please RSVP to let us know if you're attending.

Join us for Corporate Prayer on Sunday, August 29th at 4pm

Here are some resources that our elders recommend checking out this week. Please feel free to use them as discipleship opportunities to discuss with one another.

Before You Share Your Faith! How To Be Evangelism Ready VIDEO: Matt Smethurst (new Richmond pastor) —author of Before You Open Your Bible and a forthcoming companion book, Before You Share Your Faith—outlines seven tips for becoming “evangelism ready.”

The Purpose of Sunday Is The Re-Evangelization of The People of God The sinner’s need for the gospel doesn’t end when he is converted. While the fullness of eternal life is bestowed upon the vilest sinner at that point, he still needs the good news to grow him, mature him, sanctify him. And when we stand before Christ our Judge at the last day, we will be standing on nothing more than the gospel for our acceptance even then.

How Faith Prays In The Dark And one crucial dimension we must not miss is this: at that moment of his death, no one but Jesus perceived the faithfulness of God at work. He shows us that God can be acting most faithfully in the very moments when it appears he’s not being faithful at all.
