Weekly Update - July 4 , 2021

| 7.4.21 |

This Sunday, Rayshawn Graves will be continuing in our series in Romans 8 titled, “If God is For Us” . This week’s passage will be Romans 8:26-27 . Last week’s sermon can be heard here. If you’re planning to watch online check us out this week on Facebook Live Sunday morning at 10:30am

We want to encourage you to take a moment this week as you prepare for our time together on Sunday by reading and praying through the passages.

Consider thinking through these four questions as you read and pray.

  1. How can I adore God from this passage?

  2. What sin does this passage lead me to confess?

  3. How does this passage help me to thank Jesus?

  4. From this passage, in what ways can I ask God's Spirit to help me this week?

Community Groups Are Back!

…and they are meeting through the Summer from May through July. Communities are our primary gatherings outside of Sunday morning where we can connect with each other and grow together through fellowship, God’s word, and discipleship. Weekly Resources

Here are some resources that our elders recommend checking out this week. Please feel free to use them as discipleship opportunities to discuss with one another.

Why You Can't Love Jesus and Condone Immorality When we become a follower of Christ, our view of morality must change. For the Christian, the standard of what is “morally acceptable” is based on the standard God provides for us in the Bible. Therefore, if we want to correct our understanding of what is moral behavior, we must turn to Scripture for guidance (2 Tim. 3:16).

Is God For Us? God’s “good” is not specific to the individual as much as it is tied to that which benefits the corporate body. God’s “good” is about conforming us to the image of Christ. That is our greatest good. Our greatest good is that which most glorifies God and promotes worship of his holy name among the nations.

Pray For Other Members As Christians, we should pray continuously (1 Thess. 5:17), taking each other’s anxiety to our caring God (1 Pet. 5:7). We should also pray with thanksgiving, bringing one another’s requests to God (Phil. 4:6). The Lord also invites us to pray expectantly for wisdom (James 1:5). We shouldn’t grow weary of faithfully praying these prayers. But we can aim for even more precision in our prayers for other church members.
