This week we will be meeting at Veritas School (3400 Brook Rd. Richmond, VA 23227)
| 9.12.21 |
This Sunday, we will be beginning a new series in the book of Haggai . This week’s passage will be Haggai 1:1-15 . Last week’s sermon can be heard here. If you’re planning to watch online check us out this week on Facebook Live Sunday morning at 10:30am
We want to encourage you to take a moment this week as you prepare for our time together on Sunday by reading and praying through the passages.
Consider thinking through these four questions as you read and pray.
How can I adore God from this passage?
What sin does this passage lead me to confess?
How does this passage help me to thank Jesus?
From this passage, in what ways can I ask God's Spirit to help me this week?
As COVID numbers continue to increase in our area, the elders are continuing to monitor the updates by the CDC and our Governor concerning precautions for our gatherings. At this time, our services will continue to be mask-optional. We will continue to provide updates if things change going forward.
We do ask that if you or anyone in your household has recently been ill or is currently experiencing symptoms of illness, please stay at home. By doing this, you will be loving others well and protecting the most vulnerable among us.
Please be mindful of the comfort levels of others during our gatherings.
Hand sanitizers and disinfectant wipes will be stationed throughout the building
Got Prayer?
If there's something you'd like for our leaders and our church to be praying with you about, fill out the prayer request form.
Evidences of God’s Grace
The elders would love to hear about and celebrate the ways that God’s grace is working in your life or how you’ve witnessed God’s grace in the life of other members of WEBC. Let us know here.
Weekly Resources
Here are some resources that our elders recommend checking out this week. Please feel free to use them as discipleship opportunities to discuss with one another.
The Servanthood of The Believer To love without expecting in return applies to every aspect of our lives: work, school, marriage, family, friends, church, etc. The joy in loving and serving is blessing the receiver. Loving others becomes tainted when our intention is rooted in self-motivation, manipulation, pridefulness or expected reciprocation. In other words, if Jesus Christ is not our example and motivation for why we love and serve others, then our intentions are rooted in self.
How Should We Pray When We Suffer? When we wrestle in prayer with faith, we discover the hidden treasures of God’s grace. It isn’t weak faith that leads us to wrestle and spend sleepless nights in prayer, but faith strong enough to believe that God himself will meet us and answer us, that he is not indifferent to our cries but is rather moving heaven and earth in response to our pleas
Faith, Hope, and Love Endure Forever With beaming gladness we will march into glory, our faith finally seeing face to face, our hope—at last!—met with the promised splendor, our Love before us forever, illuminating the new world with the greatest of what abides eternal.
