This Sunday, Rayshawn Graves will be continuing our series in The Gospel of John . This week’s passage will be John 19:1-16 Last week’s sermon can be heard here. If you’re planning to watch online check us out this week on Facebook Live Sunday morning at 10:30am
We want to encourage you to take a moment this week as you prepare for our time together on Sunday by reading and praying through the passages.
Consider thinking through these four questions as you read and pray.
How can I adore God from this passage?
What sin does this passage lead me to confess?
How does this passage help me to thank Jesus?
From this passage, in what ways can I ask God's Spirit to help me this week?
The elders are continuing to monitor the updates by the CDC and our Governor concerning precautions for our gatherings. At this time, our services will continue to be mask-optional. We will continue to provide updates if things change going forward.
We do ask that if you or anyone in your household has recently been ill or is currently experiencing symptoms of illness, please stay at home. By doing this, you will be loving others well and protecting the most vulnerable among us.
Please be mindful of the comfort levels of others during our gatherings.
Hand sanitizers and disinfectant wipes will be stationed throughout the building
Got Prayer?
If there's something you'd like for our leaders and our church to be praying with you about, fill out the prayer request form.
Evidences of God’s Grace
The elders would love to hear about and celebrate the ways that God’s grace is working in your life or how you’ve witnessed God’s grace in the life of other members of WEBC. Let us know here.
Weekly Resources
Here are some resources that our elders recommend checking out this week. Please feel free to use them as discipleship opportunities to discuss with one another.
How To Despair Well Emotional maturity means leading our feelings to God, not letting our feelings lead us away from him. The bedrock of emotional maturity is to know God is a good listener.
Expressive Individualism: Our 21st Century American Ba'al We owe it to God and to our neighbors to image God in this world, to refuse to follow our desires if they conflict with God’s desire for us. When we satisfy our desires in ways that are at odds with God’s, we harm our own bodies and souls. When we act on our impulses apart from God’s desires, we harm the surrounding community. Thus, to be authentic, to image God as he intends, we must align our lives with God’s desires and applaud those who do the same.
Jesus Owns Your Phone I’m increasingly convinced that what may be most helpful for the majority of us is to disconnect, at least for a while. Most of us don’t even know how wet we are because we’ve been in the digital ocean for so long. Our technology is designed to addict us, subtly and powerfully. You may not even realize the grip it has on you until you turn it off.
